On July 26, 2023
the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology conducted a practical training program on the process of applying for evaluation according to the Professional Standard Framework (Thailand-PSF) for higher education professors. The event took place at the Laguna Grand Hotel and Spa, Songkhla, with Asst. Prof. Piya Prasongchan, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Education and Technology, presiding over the project opening.
This significant activity encompassed various lectures delivered by guest speaker Assoc. Prof. Dr. Opas Kaosaiyaphorn, Director of the Learning Resources Center, Ms. Long Orathai Autkraweesunthorn, at the Hat Yai Campus of Songkhla Nakarin University. The key topics covered were as follows:
1. The concept of teacher competency (Professional Standard Framework).
2. The importance of the roles, responsibilities, and competencies of instructors affecting student outcomes.
3. Utilizing the teacher competency framework for professional development and enhancing teaching management efficiency.
4. The process of applying for evaluation according to the Professional Standard Framework (Thailand-PSF).
5. Guidelines for writing teaching-related documents to request evaluation according to the Professional Standard Framework (Thailand-PSF).
The main objectives of this event were to ensure that educators understand the concept of the Professional Standard Framework at the highest level of education, appreciate the significance of their roles and responsibilities, and use the knowledge to enhance their teaching practices. Additionally, participants were encouraged to draft submissions for evaluation based on the Professional Standard Framework at the highest level of education.
