The Monitoring Committee for the 5S+ activities, along with the Faculty of Industrial and Technology Education, conducted an inspection of the classrooms and laboratories in the building of the Faculty of Arts. The purpose of the inspection was to ensure adherence to the 5S+ work plan, aiming to improve the working and learning environment, emphasizing cleanliness, convenience, safety, aesthetics, environmental consciousness, and quality work.
The principles of the 5S+ (7S) work practices are as follows:
- Sorting: Separate necessary items for easy and quick access. If frequently used, store them near the usage area. If rarely used, store them in appropriate places for easy retrieval. If no longer needed but still useful, consider donating, selling, or appropriately disposing of unrelated items. If no longer functional, consider donation, sale, or proper disposal based on suitability.
- Systematizing: Arrange items systematically for convenient retrieval. Clearly label and return items to their designated places after use. Categorize and organize items according to the concept of "Easy to find, Easy to know, Pleasing to the eye."
- Sweeping: Clean the area and equipment to maintain a good condition and promote safety.
- Standardizing: Continuously improve and maintain the first three S's to enhance well-being and sustain a healthy lifestyle.
- Self-discipline: Cultivate habits of consistently practicing the 7S activities, making them a routine and second nature.
- Creativity/Innovation: Generate creativity, innovation, and improvements in work practices. Reduce costs and adopt good practices.
- Environment/Aesthetics: Create a pleasant working environment that is visually appealing, comfortable, and refreshing without unnecessary extravagance. Adhere to the principles of resource conservation, such as electricity, water, paper, etc., by avoiding unnecessary resource usage, reducing resource consumption, reusing resources, and recycling resources.
