On July 5-6, 2566
the Faculty of Industrial and Technological Education, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, organized a practical training program on the standard curriculum for professional development in the field of Barista. This program is conducted under the initiative to drive the sustainable development of coastal tourism through innovation and technology. The opening ceremony was presided over by Asst. Prof. Piya Prasongchan , Dean of the Faculty of Industrial and Technological Education, along with Asst. Prof. Rawiwan Peongsorn a lecturer in Department of Hotel and Tourism from the Faculty of Arts. and The professional barista, Ms. Supanida Pongprayoon, also served as a speaker for the training. This training program attracted participants from various backgrounds, including professional baristas, general individuals, and coffee enthusiasts, as well as interested students. The training aimed to enhance their skills and knowledge in the coffee industry, enabling them to further develop their businesses in the tourism sector. The program covered interesting topics delivered by knowledgeable speakers, focusing on the use of equipment and espresso machines, foam and milk frothing, brewing both hot and cold coffee beverages, recipe formulation techniques, and practical applications such as creating coffee-based cocktails (Coffee Tails) using local ingredients. Participants had the opportunity to engage in hands-on practice and exchange learning experiences with each other, fostering the development of their knowledge in the tourism industry. This, in turn, will contribute to the improvement of their respective communities by adhering to professional standards, ultimately leading to increased income opportunities.
